Northeast Region Sales Manager - Far Niente

The Far Niente Family of Wineries and Vineyards, is seeking an experienced Northeast Region Sales Manager. The qualified candidate will have proven, current distributor and key account relationships, live in the territory, and oversee sales operations to ensure the attainment of established sales, financial, and distribution objectives.


  • Complete coverage and sales management in the following markets: NY, NJ, CT, MA, PA, DE, DC, MD, VA, NH, VT, RI, ME. The ideal candidate will reside in NY, NJ, CT metro area and must have current distributor and key account relationships.
  • Develop annual sales plans by market to meet case and distribution objectives.
  • Set up pricing and sales programs to drive sales and manage price point objectives within an annual financial budget including managing all distributor charge backs, budgets, and invoices.
  • Develop and manage sales incentives and support programs to ensure achievement of annual objectives.
  • Prepare and monitor T & E and financial budgets.
  • Manage and administrate allocations of wines for distributor network.
  • Continuously gather and monitor information on competition and market trends; communicate information to the other Sales Managers and others as needed.
  • Continuously develop new distribution for all brands in key accounts..
  • Attend industry events, tastings, and wine dinners as a representative of Far Niente, Nickel & Nickel, EnRoute, Bella and Dolce Wineries.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.


  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent.
  • A minimum of five year’s fine wine sales experience at the supplier level. Wholesale experience is also required.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with key account executives.
  • Knowledge of distributors and key accounts.
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills.
  • Well-developed negotiation, project and time management skills.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Solid knowledge and appreciation of fine wine.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Strong workplace computer skillset and an ability to adopt new technology and business management software.


  • Understand and respond to a diverse population.
  • Travel is required (range from 30 to 35%).
  • Proof of insurance and a clean DMV record required.
