Eastern Regional Sales Manager-Premium Port Wines, Inc.

Premium Port Wines, Inc. North America’s leading specialty importer representing the world’s finest Ports, Madeiras and Douro DOC wines from the Symington Family. 

Our Brands include:  Graham’s, Cockburn’s, Dow’s, Smith Woodhouse, Quinta do Vesuvio Ports, and Prats & Symington Douro DOC wines along with Blandy’s, Cossart Gordon and Leacock’s Madeiras.

Markets are NY, NJ, DE, MD, DC, VA, and WV.  Primary focus is on Metro NY, NJ top retailers, and Metro DC/NOVA

The position has two direct reports:  a Regional Manager who covers the Northeast and an Account Manager to cover both of these Regions.  The candidate will need to educate, motivate and work effectively with distributor management, sales staff and key accounts to achieve sales and distribution, as well as profitability goals and objectives.  The candidate should be able to work with a very diverse distributor network, from small fine wine houses to large volume-driven distributors.

DE:  Breakthru and SGWS

MD:  Breakthru and Country Vintner

DC:  Breakthru and Country Vintner

VA:  Breakthru, Country Vintner, and Select

WV:  Country Vintner, Wine and Beverage Distributors

  • 5 Years supplier experience preferred.
  • Fine wine knowledge, Port and Madeira basics
  • Inventory management and forecasting skills, experience in building containers is a plus.
  • Programming and pricing experience
  • Interest and ability to work the market independently and with distributor sales force
  • Strong account relationships both on and off-premise.  NY Metro Key On-Premise experience is essential.
  • Candidate must be NY Metro/NJ resident
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and via technology.
  •                  Strong computer skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and  Outlook.
  •                  Ability to speak before large groups.
  •                  Ability to travel extensively (up to 50%).
  •                  Valid Driver’s License and US Passport
  •                   Reliable, insured automobile
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs.
