This confidential client fulfills the needs of fine wine enthusiasts worldwide.  Their unique platform offers the fine wine consumer an ideal solution to more enjoyably pursue their passion for drinking and cellaring the best wines of the world. 

The Client buys and sells collectible fine wine; operates the only true full-service wine storage facility in the United States; and provides a cutting edge, purely web based, wine management software solution, Vincellar, which enables enthusiasts to actively manage their cellars.  Additionally, they client's Marketplace is the first and only platform available in the USA for collector-to-collector wine sales.

Location: San Francisco -with a large storage facility in the Napa Valley. 

The Director of Client Services implements the client's overall sales vision including managing our bi-coastal sales team.  This is an exceptional opportunity in our San Francisco office for a seasoned professional with a strong background in selling private collections of fine and rare wines and managing a team of fine wine sales professionals.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has 5 years plus experience in high-end, collectible wine sales with proven track record meeting and exceeding quotas
  • Must have the ability to interact with the world’s most discerning wine collectors
  • Must be fluent in the relative strengths of vintages in both foreign and domestic wine regions
  • Has a broad knowledge of fine and rare wine. Certifications a HUGE plus
  • Has an ability to sell through educated, candid and personal wine advice including via the written word
  • Can curate offers incorporating owned inventory, as well as current release wine
  • Is ready to plan for new client acquisition and determine growth strategies for current clients
  • Is a self-starter with a keen analytical mind; a high level of personal organization; and the ability to quickly problem solve
  • Has fluency in standard office software and e-mail marketing platforms
  • Has an ability to evangelize our brand and articulate our business model
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and be the ultimate dinner guest and cocktail conversationalist
  • Has a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited four-year college or university

Reporting line: Reporting to the COO.


  • Driving monthly sales via online channel, phone sales, and new client cultivation to achieve mutually agreed sales targets.
  • Develop lasting consumer relationships with existing clients and newly created leads
  • Creating daily and timely content based around current opportunities or those that just arise
  • Creatively selling a depth of inventory both current releases and aged inventory
  • Being an agent of innovation and change within the Company – we want and like new ideas
  • Assist planning wine dinners and other corporate events with flawless attention to detail
  • Ability to interact with high-end collectors and CEOs of major corporations
  • Engaging customers to create buzz and brand awareness
  • Be the ultimate corporate spokesperson and evangelize our portfolio of services
  • Contribute to our wine blog and work with our SEO team to craft articles to draw online traffic
